Gaia hypothesis

The Gaia hypothesis is an ecological hypothesis that proposes that living and nonliving parts of the earth are viewed as a complex interacting system that can be thought of as a single organism. Named after the Greek earth goddess, this hypothesis postulates that all living things have a regulatory effect on the Earth's environment that promotes life overall.

This loop pendant features a really fun glass bead which has purple hearts swimming in a pool of deep green with that special borosilicate shine. It is the work of lampwork artisan Brandie Rosenberry, and it is surrounded by swirled deep blue green and violet borosilicate donut beads encased in clear for depth and some neat faceted glass beads in shades of purple and forest green, with little silver accents.
The loop is double-strung with strong nylon coated wire and hanging from a satin cord which closes with a lobster-claw clasp that has a teeny starfish charm accent.

Borosilicate glass is a special kind of glass which is actually more durable than normal glass - it is the same kind used in Pyrex and is less dense than ordinary glass and it also requires a much higher temperature to melt compared to ordinary silicate glass.

This necklace is designed to be strong enough to be used as a Nursing Necklace.
NOTE: Necklaces are usually modeled on a short cord-length. Please specify desired length when ordering.
